Castle Rock
Castle Rock is a home rule municipality that is the county seat of Douglas County.
The town is located at the base of the Rampart Range of the Rocky Mountains, on the eastern edge of the Denver metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the town population was 48,231. The town is named for the prominent Castle Rock monolith, which is just east of the town. Castle Rock is known for its small town feel and its many outdoor recreational opportunities, including hiking and rock climbing at Castle Rock and Devil's Head, both just a short drive from town. The town is also home to a number of events and festivals throughout the year, including the Castle Rock Western Art and Antique Show, the Castle Rock Winefest, and the Castle Rock Brew Fest.
